Kheedim Oh didn't set out to be a kimchi maker. He was a skateboarder and DJ in New York City when, unable to find kimchi that tasted as good as the kind his mother made, he asked his “Mama O” for her recipe. “I would bring an igloo cooler full of kimchi that I had made at my parents’ house in Maryland back to NYC with me on the Chinatown bus.” Today, his artisanal, Brooklyn-made kimchi is beloved by restaurateurs and grocers around the world. In 2016, it won the prestigious Good Food Award for Outstanding Kimchi. Despite his success, Kheedim remains committed to his company’s hand-crafted roots. “I started this company with $50 and a skateboard,” he says. “It’s crazy how I ended up doing this for a living.”

This family-owned and operated business has produced award-winning Italian cheeses since 1953. All of their milk is locally sourced; their ricotta is hand-scooped from kettles; and their mozzarella is made by seasoned cheesemakers who carefully interpret the milk and curds as they progress toward their final shape, texture and flavor profile. Says President and CEO Frank Angeloti, “Our ethos is guided and prescribed by what my Grandfather and Uncle taught me early on: to craft and deliver a product that I would want to bring home to my family. It’s as simple as that.”
