Want to know more about our ClimatePartner and carbon offset projects?

What are carbon offset projects, and how did we find them? Carbon offset projects are activities that businesses undertake to counterbalance carbon emissions and ensure their actions do no harm to the environment. In our activities, we work with an accredited C02 offsetting partner on projects that support our sustainability mission and meet international standards set by certification programs like Verra and Gold Standard for the Global Goals

GREEN PROJECTS

To date, we've planted more than 44,000 trees in Venezuela and Uruguay, and we've distributed 4,000 clean and efficient cookstoves to families who cook with open fire in Zambia. The trees absorb carbon from the atmosphere; the cookstoves reduce the release of greenhouse gases and aerosols, a substance class that includes black carbon (also known as soot). By cooking with Martha Stewart & Marley Spoon, you're not just skipping the grocery store or eating better meals; you're contributing to the health of your neighbors and the health of our world.

KOOK JE DUURZAAM MET ONS MEE?

Cooking with Martha Stewart & Marley Spoon means you get the exact, pre-portioned ingredients you need—nothing more, nothing less—delivered direct to your door. We aim to eliminate food waste! But we need to think bigger than just our meal kits. That's why we developed a recipe for a greener world. The main ingredient: carbon neutrality.

A GREENER WORLD

A GREENER WORLD

In order to go green, we need to think green. We first needed to understand our biggest carbon emissions to see which impact we could make. Then, we identified where we could reduce our carbon emissions. Now, we operate carbon neutral and avoid any carbon emission possible. For times we can't avoid it, we offset these emissions through carbon offset projects.

GOING GREEN

Going green means thinking green. Our first step toward carbon neutrality was identifying the source of our emissions. Only then could we figure out how to reduce them. Today, we are fully carbon neutral, and where emissions simply can't be avoided, we countervail them with carbon offset projects.

GREEN PROJECTS

What are carbon offset projects, and how did we find them? We looked for trustful partners and projects that fitted our criteria and supported our company mission, while meeting international standards. The different projects we chose to support tackle carbon emissions in different ways. Planting trees for example pull carbon from the atmosphere, and by replacing old inefficient cookstoves we avoid releasing new carbon into the air.

Our carbon offset projects achieve to this day an average of more than 44.000 trees planted in Guanaré and Uruguay. And because we love to make cooking easier for people around the world, we contribute to the distribution of 4.000 clean and effient cookstoves to families who cook on open fire in Zambia. So by cooking with Marley Spoon you don't only make your own life in the kitchen easier. Cooking with us, rather than the supermarket, helps make the world a little greener.
